Hailing from Rio de Janeiro and with an enviable MMA record of 29 wins from 34 fights, Alexandre Pantoja is a wonderful addition to our UFC Ambassador roster. In 2023, he displayed all the courage, skill and determination we admire to defeat Brandon Moreno in a thrilling, five round battle at UFC 290, taking home the flyweight championship belt.
Winning in Magnificent Style
Having overcome Manel Kape, Brandon Royval, and Alex Perez in his three prior fights, ‘The Cannibal’ had more than earned his title shot and he gained it in magnificent style against a man he’d already beaten once in UFC. At UFC 296, our man delivered an equally impressive performance in his first title defence as he once again defeated Royval in an epic, five-round war. In his next appearance, and with a home crowd in Rio fiercely behind him, he overcame Steve Erceg with a gritty performance that displayed how well rounded he is.
Heart of a Champion
In 2024, Pantoja showed enormous grit to take out a decision win against Steve Erceg in a home fight in Rio De Janeio, and then stole the show at UFC 310 with a stunning submission win against up and comer Kai Asakura. Having never been finished in his MMA career, it’s clear that our man has the heart of a champion and a never-say-die attitude. Alongside Alex Pereira , as one of two Brazilian champions currently in the organisation, he is carrying the torch for a nation that has a proud history in UFC, and we can’t wait to continue that journey with him here at Stake .
